Usage Notes
The timing is reported in degrees and refers to the number of degrees before top dead center (BTDC) that the spark will ignite the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber.
Multiple fuel injection events are used in newer fuel injection systems. The main fuel injection event provides most of the fuel for the engine cycle. It occurs between the the pre-injection event and the post-injection event.
Monitoring the main injection timing can help to indicate any issues that may be occurring with the Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) or the regeneration.
