Exhaust Gas Temperature 2 (Degrees Fahrenheit) – LUZ
Description
The exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensors measure the temperature along different parts of the exhaust stream. The exhaust gas temperature 2 is located mid DPF (diesel particulate filter) after the DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst).

Usage Notes
The EGT sensors protect the converter, engine, turbo, and other heat sensitive components from being damaged due to excessive heat. The EGT2 will usually be higher during a regeneration or while the vehicle is warming up. If the DPF or CAT is hot this can also cause the EGT2 to be higher.
