Exhaust Gas Temperature 3 (Degrees Fahrenheit) – LUZ
Description
The exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensors measure the temperature along different parts of the exhaust stream. The exhaust gas temperature 3 is located before the SCR (selective catalytic reduction).

Usage Notes
The EGT sensors protect the converter, engine, turbo, and other heat sensitive components from being damaged due to excessive heat. If the DPF or CAT is hot this can cause the EGT3 to be higher.
