Usage Notes
On a 4.9 gallon DEF tank the DEF fluid should last for about 10,000 miles. The DEF is normally filled during your routine oil changes.
The DEF is made of of one part synthetic urea and two parts deionized water. This mixture is injected into the Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) and mixed with the exhaust gas to reduce the NOX levels released by the vehicle.
