Usage Notes
The VCV is duty-cycle-controlled by the PCM and wide open when at 0%. A higher percentage for the VCV, resulting from maximum fuel pressure being allowed into the high-pressure pump, indicates that the high-pressure pump does not need as much fuel volume to build the desired pressure. When diagnosing high-pressure side issues, it's good to check to make sure the VCV isn't stuck closed.
